What is a green building?
A green building is one that uses environmentally responsible and resource-efficient processes throughout the buildings life cycle. This is accomplished in a number of ways including; utilizing resources such as water and energy. This efficiently reduces environmental impact through reduction of waste and pollution and improving employee productivity while protecting their health. ICI’s one-piece panels eliminate air and moisture leakage and infiltration problems that are commonplace in conventional homes, making them more comfortable and energy efficient. ICI’s EcoScape panels arrive at the site with textured and colored facings, eliminating the need for onsite painting or exterior finish materials at the job site, thereby eliminating site waste that needs to be disposed of (paint cans, finish material cut offs, etc.). In addition, no heavy equipment is required on site for installation, thereby eliminating consumption of fuel and related pollution. One of ICI’s core objectives is to provide products that are highly environmentally friendly, are energy efficient, are cost effective to operate and maintain and are comfortable to live in.
What is a modular home?
Modular homes are comprised of prefabricated sections that are easily assembled either in a factory setting or on-site in a matter of hours or days. Our lightweight EcoScape panel system is easily assembled into a completed modular home using unskilled labor and readily available conventional tools. EcoScape homes are easily customizable in terms of floor plans, interior wall placement and exterior appearance. The EcoScape homes also have superior strength-to-weight values, exceptional durability, and excellent insulation properties, making them well suited to virtually any climate! EcoScape panels are connected with a unique and proprietary interlocking feature that gives the structure superior strength. This superior connection eliminates air and moisture infiltration and leakage thereby making the structure very energy efficient. Added benefits of our technology result in structures that are insect, UV, fire, hurricane, earthquake, water and moisture resistant.
What is a sustainable home?
A sustainable home is one that utilizes materials that do not deplete our natural resources, and that can be recycled, one that reduces energy consumption and one that ensures a healthy & comfortable living environment. All of ICI’s EcoScape housing meet these criteria.
What is a manufactured home?
A manufactured home is constructed almost entirely in a factory with finished assembly being completed on site. Today’s manufactured homes and buildings can be constructed in many different sizes and shapes, ranging from simple one-story homes and buildings to large and complex structures.
A manufactured home is one type of factory-built housing. Other types include modular homes, panellized homes, mobile homes and pre-cut home packages. Factory-built houses usually cost less and are much better constructed than homes built on-site as material utilization and waste can be closely controlled, manufacturing efficiencies can be integrated into their construction and costs and delays associated with weather conditions are eliminated.
Does ICI produce single order homes?
Unfortunately at this time we are not able to produce single one-off homes and we are focusing our manufacturing strength on High Volume, mass market manufacturing of housing, transportation and composite panels.
What is sustainable living?
Sustainable living is an attempt to reduce one’s carbon footprint by limiting the use of the Earth’s natural resources and one’s own resources. Altering methods of transportation and energy consumption can help to preserve resources in order to meet current ecological and economical needs without compromising these aspects for future generations. EcoScape structures provide greater energy efficiency due to the seamless one-piece panels that eliminate drafts and air leaks. They also provide exceptional insulating properties that keep the buildings at a constant temperature to conserve energy and save on costs.
What makes our SIPS different?
EcoScape Structurally Integrated Panels are comprised of revolutionary composite facings that include strands of structural fibres such as fibreglass, Kevlar and Aramid which are consolidated with a thermal plastic carrier and are in turn integrated with a structural framework containing an insulating core material. Our product is unique in the industry; it’s different than anything else that has been done in the past. Our skin material is engineered to be impact resistant and testing has proven that it meets the Dade County, FL impact requirements. Its unmatched strength-to-weight ratio allows EcoScape panels to replace steel, concrete, wood and other structural materials conventionally used. Our panels can be used in virtually unlimited applications and as the structure, insulation and interior and exterior finishes are integral to our panels, structures are pretty much ready to occupy upon completion of installation.
How custom can the homes be?
The EcoScape homes can be customized to suit any need. Typical home sizes can range from 500 to 3000 square feet. Since the interior walls are non-bearing they can be placed anywhere along the integral truss design to accommodate open floor plan configurations. Besides allowing for a fully customizable interior, the EcoScape homes come fully textured and coloured, interior and exterior wall surfaces and can be easily adapted for the local customary decorative needs of any environment. With EcoScape panels, your design possibilities are endless.
Can you handle high volume production?
ICI’s roll out of its EcoScape panel system has been accelerated by rapidly growing sales based upon proven performance. Our product gives an affordable quality solution to the on-going demand for sustainable housing. All things considered our modular housing system is significantly less expensive than conventional housing and it provides attributes that are unheard of in the industry. Our efficient manufacturing process allows us to produce homes in a much shorter time period to meet the high demand of the housing market. Our proprietary connection feature design allows a full house to be assembled in days using unskilled labour. From start to finish, these innovations are ideally suited for high volume production.
Are EcoScape homes hurricane and environmentally resistant?
EcoScape homes are engineered to be very structurally sound and are resistant to mould, moisture, insects, and UV light as well. Our one-piece panel construction and proprietary connection system eliminates air-leakage and drafts and our panels will not rot or decay. Our skin material is engineered to be impact resistant and testing indicates it meets Dade County Florida impact requirements. Our system has been engineered to withstand high winds and we continue to perfect the structural design of our panels to make them even more hurricane and wind resistant.
Are EcoScape homes easy to assemble?
Our panels are lightweight and require no special or heavy equipment to assemble the panels on the job site. General labourers can quickly assemble the lightweight EcoScape SIP panels with readily available conventional hand tools without the need for skilled tradesman. A crew familiar with ICI’s proprietary connection system can assemble a simple single floor layout in few hours.
Is it cost effective to ship EcoScape panels?
EcoScape panels are lightweight and their modular configurations allow for efficient nesting on trucks or when shipped in containers. This allows for maximum utilization of available shipping space and a corresponding reduction of shipping costs and fuel consumption.
